I have a history with this awesome animals.
Once, in a gradeschool biology test, there was a question on whether fish could walk on land or not. And me, being the science book obsessed kid that I was, answered “YES”. Because I read about mudskippers and how they are able to walk/skip on land/mud. I was feeling really confident on acing that test. That is until I got the results. I asked my teacher about this and expressed my concerns.
“Ma’m I got this answer correct.”
“Which one?”
“The fish walking on land one. There really are fishes that walk on land.”
“Don’t be silly. There are no fishes who could walk on land. God didn’t mean it to be that way.”
“But ma’m, you’re wrong I…”
“Go back to your seat. I’m older than you. So stop being disrespectful.”
“…”
The very next day I put my encyclopedias where pages of mudskippers are bookmarked on her desk.
She didn’t change my grade.
She glared at me like I was scum on earth.
But never did she dare to act like she’s knew everything ever again.
FUCK YEAH ONE FOR THE MUDSKIPPERS.
How dare she doubt their awesome existence!!!!
